September 4 Barre Fitness Challenge

Today was a tough day – maybe because I did a workout at 6 last night and then came again first thing this morning. Or maybe because I sent my little girl who is not even three yet- on the school bus alone to her new program. Today was her first day. It was so hard not to just take her back off the bus and run inside and lock the door. We both made it though, and although there are some issues to address in her school day, I think hopefully in a week or two, everything will work out. So a big YAY on making it though todays workout!

My September Challenge… Coming Soon

September Challenge

Recently I bought a 1 month unlimited pass for a place called Sculpt Barre ( They also have a Facebook page). Since my daughter will be starting a program at a local school 4 mornings a week, I thought that there would be no better time to start a new challenge. So I am challenging myself to attend 20 classes in one month.

I have only done Barre a few times so far, and I have to admit, I am in love. I find it HARD! The hour long workout leaves me so exhausted that I’ve had to go home and take a nap. During the workout, my body is continuously shaking while I’m pushing myself to keep going!

What is barre fitness?

Barre is a combination of Yoga, Pilates and Ballet technique. The greatest thing about barre is that you do not need to be a dancer to do this. Honestly, you can be as clumsy and uncoordinated as I am, and still benefit from Barre! Actually, it will help improve your coordination! Barre is made up of small frequent movements that really work your muscles.

I am anxious to see if one month of doing barre workouts will show any visible body changes, as well as I am interested to know how I will feel after a month of doing this challenge.  Prior to the start of the challenge, I am going to take some measurements on myself, as well as my weight.  I however don’t mind if I lose any weight as long as my clothes fit better 😉

I hope that you will follow my in my adventure of yet another challenge as I will be updating frequently next month on my progress.
